I’ve been told that oatmeal is great for the supply so I’ve been sure to enjoy some daily. Well, plain oatmeal is pretty good, but it starts to get a little… plain after a while. I was jumping all over pinterest for some recipes and didn’t find a ton, unfortunately. My sister let me in on one of her favorite ways to enjoy oatmeal, and ever since, I’ve been experimenting so I thought I’d share with you!
Cinnamon Apple “Cobbler” Oatmeal
1/3 cup old fashioned oats
2/3 (more or less depending on how thin you like your oats) cup milk – I’m currently using lactose-free milk
1.5 tbs Apple Butter
dash of cinnamon
Brown sugar to taste
I don’t like cooked fruit for the most part, so this was a quick way to enjoy an apple cobbler tasting treat without having to cut apples, and with just the ingredients I already had. Cook the oats following the directions on the carton and add in the rest.
Peanut butter Oatmeal – this one isn’t as sweet
1/3 cup old fashioned oats2/3 (more or less depending on how thin you like your oats) cup milk – I’m currently using lactose-free milk
2 tbs peanut butter
1 tbs honey (more or less to taste)
dash of cinnamon
Chocolate Oatmeal
1/3 cup old fashioned oats
2/3 (more or less depending on how thin you like your oats) cup milk – I’m currently using lactose-free milk
1 tsp cocoa powder
dash of cinnamon
brown sugar to taste
powdered sugar to sprinkle on top
Banana bread Oatmeal
1/3 cup old fashioned oats
2/3 (more or less depending on how thin you like your oats) cup milk – I’m currently using lactose-free milk
1 over-ripe banana
dash of cinnamon (optional)
brown sugar to taste
coconut flakes (optional)
Slice banana and cook with oats, then add everything else and enjoy!
And last, but not least…
I used this recipe found on pinterest. Hubs loved it, I just thought it was OK.. a little too bland for me.
Enjoy!
